Day in Tamarind Hills Resort & Villas
Tamarind Hills is an upscale oceanfront community with modern villas, beautiful landscaping, and exceptional views of the ocean. It was a pleasure waking up to views of the ocean and lush landscaping every day. The community has two onsite restaurants, bar, with direct access to private beach. The onsite restaurant food quality and selection is good. It is a great place to relax and unwind, very quiet. We enjoyed 8:00 am yoga classes. Additionally, we took advantage of paddleboarding and kayaking equipment available for guest use. It is offered at no cost and staff has motorized boat to check on you. The suites are well appointed with big outdoor deck and fully equipped kitchen. We enjoyed spending evenings on our private deck enjoying jacuzzi and marveling ocean views. The staff goes extra mile to make sure your stay is great. Big kudos to restaurant manager Suresh and chef Mohsine for providing extra care and making our experience memorable. Overall, villas are good for a relaxing family vacation but if you are more into activities and sightseeing I would recommend booking tours in advance with tour operators Adventure Antigua and Tropical Adventures.

This is as nice and beautiful of a property as we have stayed at. The pictures are legit. The room met all of our needs minus some operational issues that needed to be attended to. The bed might have been the most comfortable we have had internationally. The patio is awesome. The hot tub and shower were both awesome, but each had an issue that required maintenance, which caused some inconveniences. The staff are all as kind and friendly as can be, ranging from the front desk staff (Nafuna, Tonya, Adriano), to Bancroft, to Priscilla behind the bar, to the always smiling security woman at the lower entry/exit, etc. A few add'l points for consideration: - The place is super secure, with gated access on all sides and 24x7 security - Wifi worked great for us in the room and all over the property, including the beach/pool - The property is on a steep hill. This equates to beautiful views but also lots of stairs and/or steep walks. We liked the exercise, but others may not appreciate this aspect. I struggled rating this place. The issues we encountered, and the high price made me consider an 8, but the place was just so fantastic in so many ways I went with a 9.

Beautiful resort located next to one of the best beaches on the island. Beach is never crowded and have enough towels, umbrellas and sunbeds for guests. Drinks and food from the bar menu are served at the beach. All suites and villas are more/less on the hill but the view compensates for the climbing effort. Our suite was well furnished, clean, with the stunning sea view. We liked the food in Wilde Tamarind restorant, menu was not extensive but meals were tasty and well presented, on couple of days and evenings they offered special menu. We also loved the view from the breakfast restaurant ( and breakfast options). Staff was positive and responsive to our requests, on occassion we had to wait a bit longer to be served but that did not bother us. It was easy to organise tours to different parts of the island, resort is 7mins drive to Jolly Harbour, 20mins to Fig Tree Drive and 30-40mins to Shirley Lookout, English Harbour, St. John's. Overall atmosphere throughout resort is very calm and relaxing, 100% to our taste.

The staff and facilities here are phenomenal; we were so grateful we made the choice of Tamarind Hills for our honeymoon in Antigua and would stay here every time we return. From the thoughtfulness of the architecture to its position on the BEST beach on the island, Ffryes Beach, it’s really heaven on earth for anyone seeking a luxe experience with more freedom than restrictive, usually dated all-inclusives (that also charge a ton more for plastic buffet food). Highly recommend you book right away if you’re even thinking about it, and see my note below re: renting a car. This is essential to get around the whole island to try some top-tier restaurants in Jolly Harbour (5mins away) and other parishes.

The whole property was beautiful. Gorgeous spacious room, with a huge bathtub and shower, overlooking the water. Staff is friendly. Friday night jazz and cocktails over sunset was special. Main restaurant had delicious Italian food but would have loved a few local cuisine options. Drinks were fantastic. Secluded and quiet area, not very busy. We had an issue with our room lock, and while staff was trying to help, issue was not resolved until a few days later when main person from maintenance came. On our last day staff manager allowed us to have late checkout to makeup for this, which was sweet and thoughtful.
